In order to better protect your account and secure your sensitive operations, we are replacing Google Authenticator as an authentication method.
Switching to the iBanFirst app gives you stronger protection against phishing and keeps your financial operations safe. It takes just a few minutes to set up.
What is the iBanFirst authentication app?
The iBanFirst app is a mobile application that secures your financial operations on the iBanFirst platform. Use it to approve or deny login attempts and sensitive operations — including the creation of payments, beneficiaries, and new entities — via push notifications or face/touch ID.
Key benefits of using the iBanFirst app
- The app is more secure: it protects against phishing and fraud
- It's clear what they're approving: approving each operation individually provides full visibility of the request
- It's quick and easy to set up and use: It just takes a few minutes to get set up (Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication)
Why switch from Google Authenticator?
Google Authenticator is increasingly vulnerable to phishing. Attackers can trick users into entering their code on a fake site, or intercept it in real time.
The iBanFirst app eliminates this risk. Instead of approving multiple operations with a single time-based code, you'll receive a separate notification for each operation to approve individually. It shows you exactly what you are approving each time — a payment, a beneficiary update — so nothing can unintentially slip through.
This is standard practice for modern financial platforms and much more intuitive for you and your team than using codes.
