SEPA Instant payments are available to all clients across the SEPA zone (UK excluded).
What is a SEPA Instant?
An instant transfer is processed within seconds — compared to a standard SEPA transfer, which can take up to 2 business days to reach the beneficiary.
Instant transfers are available 24/7, every day of the year, including weekends and public holidays, at no extra cost.
There is no specific limit to the amount of SEPA Instant payments - the limit stays the same as for SEPA Standard payments.
How to activate SEPA Instant?
By default, SEPA Instant is pre-selected in the payment flow of iBanFirst platform.
You can switch to a standard SEPA transfer at any time.
Why use SEPA Instant Payments?
Time savings: No more worrying about bank cut-off times or late payments. Payment confirmations are sent automatically — no need to download and send proof of payment manually.
Improved efficiency & stronger business relationships: Transfers complete in seconds, helping you build more reliable partnerships.
Peace of mind: Get instant confirmation once your payment has been successfully sent and received, so you can stay focused on your business.
What happens if an Instant SEPA payment fails?
You'll be notified immediately if an Instant payment fails. From there, you can retry the payment or switch to a standard SEPA transfer.
For more details on a failed transfer, reach out to your Account manager or our CSM team.
Important! Unlike standard SEPA transfers, SEPA Instant payments cannot be cancelled once submitted. If a payment has been sent to the wrong beneficiary, you may request a refund directly from them.
