Are there limits on amounts that can be transferred through open banking?

Each bank sets its own limits on the amount per transaction or per day that you can send by payment initiation through open banking.

If you try to initiate a payment that exceeds the limits set by your bank, an error message will be displayed.

How does iBanFirst connect to my external bank account to initiate a payment?

iBanFirst holds accreditation as a Payment Service Provider in accordance with European Directive DSP2. With your explicit authorisation, this accreditation allows iBanFirst to connect to your bank account to initiate a transfer. You will always be asked to fill in your usual login credentials with your bank to authorise this transfer.

Your credentials are never saved on our system, they are simply passed directly to your bank through a fully secure API. Your bank therefore remains in control of all payments initiated through open banking, enabling you to credit your iBanFirst account quickly and transparently.

iBanFirst uses Klarna’s leading open-banking platform to manage the connection with your bank.

When will the funds be transferred to my iBanFirst account when I initiate a payment through open banking?

The funds will be credited to your iBanFirst account within 24 to 48 hours following the initiation of your payment.
